What is God’s Will for Me?

1 Thessalonians 4:3-7 For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: 4 That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour; 5 Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God: 6 That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified. 7 For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.

1 Thessalonians 5:15-18 See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men. 16 Rejoice evermore. 17 Pray without ceasing. 18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

When God’s word speaks specifically of his will for his people, it speaks more in terms of avoiding sin and praying without ceasing, than it ever does of some grand design or plan that is unique to each individual.

So, if you want to make sure that you are living God’s will, repent and pray (not necessarily in that order!). The best place to do both of those is in His house! So get up and go, and don’t let some petty issue keep you from the will of God in your life!
