Elder Hoskins preaches a message from John 7. This message follows the discussions and feelings of the Jews and of the religious elite during this time as there is conversation regarding Christ’s identity. With Christ gaining notoriety, the scribes and Pharisees plot to take and kill Christ during the occasion of a feast. However, Christ does not appear precisely where the Pharisees expect him to be. Instead, he goes to the temple and begins teaching on God’s doctrine. The Pharisees send officers to detain Christ, but the officers return to the Pharisees empty-handed and the Pharisees are confounded at this development. This message serves to further establish who the people think who Christ is, and who Christ himself claims to be.
