What We Believe

  1. We believe in the one true and living God; the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, and these three are one. I John 5:7, Matthew 3:16-17, John 1:1
  2. We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament are the inspired word of God and the only rule of faith and practice, and that the Authorized King James Version is the preserved word of God for English speaking people. II Peter 1:21, II Timothy 3:16-17, Psalm 12:6-7, Revelation 22:18-19
  3. We believe Adam fell in the garden, and sin and death passed upon all mankind so that man has no ability to bring himself to know Christ. Romans 5:12, Romans 5:18-19, John 6:44, Psalm 14:2-3, Ephesians 2:1-3
  4. We believe in the virgin birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. Isaiah 7:14, John 1:14, Galatians 4:4-5, Matthew 1:21
  5. We believe our Lord Jesus Christ fulfilled God’s law in His time on earth as the Son of man; He redeemed His elect, that is, He made atonement for them, on the cross; and He finished the work, he died, was buried, and rose from the dead. John 17:4, I Corinthians 15:3-6, II Corinthians 5:21, John 19:28-30, Acts 1:3
  6. We believe God chose a definite number of the human race in Christ before the foundation of the world, and that every one of them will be conformed to the image of Christ. Romans 8:29, Ephesians 1:4-5, I Peter 1:2 , II Timothy 1:9-10, Revelation 17:8
  7. We believe that all for whom Christ died have been, are, and will be justified in the sight of God by the righteousness of Christ alone. Romans 5:9, I Corinthians 1:30, Titus 3:5-6
  8. We believe all God’s elect shall be born again by the Holy Spirit and shall always be God’s children. II Timothy 1:9, John 3:2-3, 8, John 10:26-29, Romans 8:38-39
  9. We believe that baptism of believers by immersion and the Lord’s supper consisting of unleavened bread and wine are ordinances of the church; and the washing of the saints feet is an example to be observed until the Lord returns. Baptism: Mark 1:9, Acts 8:36-37 Lord’s Supper: Matthew 26:26-28, I Corinthians 11:29 Washing Feet: John 13:4-5
  10. We believe that the local church is the authority under God for the ordination of gospel ministers and the discipline of church members, and that only ministers ordained by the church can minister the church ordinances. I Corinthians 5:11-13, Matthew 18:15-17 Proper Administrator: Hebrews 5:4, Acts 13:2-3, I Timothy 4:14
  11. We believe there will be a resurrection of all the dead, and a general judgment, after which the happiness of the righteous and the punishment of the wicked will be eternal. John 5:28-29, Matthew 25:31-46, Revelation 20:11-15
  12. We believe that scriptural marriage, as a picture of the spiritual union between Christ and his Church, is separate from unions ordained by the state, is an institution established by God, is to be between one man and one woman. Genesis 2:18-25, Matthew 19:5, Ephesians 5:31-32
