About

What We Believe

  1. We believe in the one True and Living God (Godhead): the Father, the Word (the Son), and the Holy Ghost.  I John 5:7, Matthew 3:16-17, John 1:1
  2. We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament are the inspired word of God without error and the only rule of faith, that the New Testament is the only rule of practice, and that the Authorized King James Version is the translation of the scriptures provided by God for His children.  II Peter 1:21, II Timothy 3:16-17, Psalm 12:6-7, Revelation 22:18-19
  3. We believe that in the fall of Adam, sin (and death by sin) passed upon all mankind, so that man has no ability to bring himself to know Christ.  Romans 5:12, Romans 5:18-19, John 6:44, Psalm 14:2-3, Ephesians 2:1-3
  4. We believe in the virgin birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Isaiah 7:14, John 1:14, Galatians 4:4-5, Matthew 1:21Ă‚
  5. We believe our Lord Jesus Christ fulfilled the ceremonial law and kept the ten commandments in His time on earth as the Son of man. He redeemed His elect, that is, He made atonement for them, in the three hours of darkness while He hung on the tree. He finished the work, gave up the ghost, was buried and three days and nights later rose again from the dead.  John 17:4, I Corinthians 15:3-6, II Corinthians 5:21, John 19:28-30, Acts 1:3
  6. We believe God chose a definite number of the human race in Christ before the foundation of the world. Everyone of them will be conformed to the image of Christ.  Romans 8:29, Ephesians 1:4-5, I Peter 1:2 , II Timothy 1:9-10, Revelation 17:8
  7. We believe that all for whom Christ died have been, are and will be made just in the sight of God by the righteousness of Christ alone.  Romans 5:9, I Corinthians 1:30, Titus 3:5-6
  8. We believe all God’s elect shall be born again by the Holy Spirit and shall always be God’s children.  II Timothy 1:9, John 3:2-3, 8, John 10:26-29, Romans 8:38-39
  9. We believe in the baptism of believers by immersion, in the Lord’s supper (unleaven bread and wine), and the washing of the saints feet; to be conducted by a proper administrator.  Baptism: Mark 1:9, Acts 8:36-37  Lord’s Supper: Matthew 26:26-28, I Corinthians 11:29  Washing Feet: John 13:4-5  Proper Administrator: Hebrews 5:4, Acts 13:2-3, I Timothy 4:14
  10. We believe there will be a resurrection of all the dead, and a general judgment, after which the happiness of the righteous and the punishment of the wicked will be eternal.  John 5:28-29, Matthew 25:31-46, Revelation 20:11-15
  11. We believe a church of the Lord Jesus Christ is the authority under God, for the administration of the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper, for the ordination of any gospel minister, and for scriptural discipline of all her members.  I Corinthians 5:11-13, Matthew 18:15-17
  12. We believe that Jesus Christ is the only true King, Priest, Prophet, and Husband of the Church.  Heb. 4:14-15, Ephesians 5:22-32, I Timothy 1:16-17, Luke 7:16

Church Order

We believe that a Church of the Lord Jesus Christ is one who stands firm in the doctrine of Christ and His Apostles.  She spreads the gospel of the finished work of Christ.  She prays for the Lord to send laborers into His fields, which are white already unto harvest.  She ordains men who have given abundant evidence of an ordination of God to preach His gospel in demonstration of the Spirit and the power thereof, who meet the qualifications of a bishop given in the Holy Scripture and that is in fellowship with her.  She administers believer’s baptism by such a minister totally immersing the subject in water only after evidence of repentance and public profession of faith in Christ.  She observes the Lord’s Supper, the taking of unleavened bread and wine as emblems of Christ broken body and His shed blood, administered by a regularly ordained minister, accompanied by washing of the saint’s feet.  She visits the fatherless and the widows in their afflictions and keeps herself unspotted from the world.  She assembles for public worship at least one time each week.  She seeks the kingdom of God and His righteousness.  She prays for this kingdom to come to her.  She expresses love to her Great High Priest by giving lovingly and freely of her material means through His church for the spreading of the gospel to help the poor and the expenses of a meeting place.  She prays always with all supplication and thanksgiving making her request known unto God.
